LocationInfleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Louisville, Colorado offices.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a Systems Engineer to support the productization of hardware systems, working cross-functionally with the engineering design team and contributing to key deliverables throughout Infleqtion’s Product Life Cycle (PLC). This is an entry level position for an individual interested in building a career in the quantum industry, with opportunities to grow into a senior engineering position. Supporting systems engineering across the company, this position enables diverse experience across multiple product families, including atomic frequency references, quantum matter machines, and quantum computers. The individual selected for this position will be part of Infleqtion’s engineering organization and will work closely with lead product engineers and developers.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned:
- Works with Engineering project teams to develop systems engineering artifacts:
- Generate components specifications derived from system requirements
- Develop and maintain Bill of Materials based on system architecture
- Contribute to design drawings and CAD models as needed
- Develop assembly and test procedures
- Support creation of Product Lifecycle deliverables and artifacts for design reviews
- Works with Document Control personnel to maintain revision control of design artifacts
- Ensure correctness of parts names, revisions, and products configurations
- Assign part numbers and ensure their uniqueness
- Synchronize specifications with inventory control database
- Manage lifecycle of all engineering documents following Infleqtion’s policies
- Works with Supply Chain personnel to synchronize specifications with inventory control database
- Specify and perform incoming inspection procedures as applicable
- Address technical communication with vendors as needed
- Supports general lab maintenance
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer engineering
- Experience with systems engineering is a plus
- 0-3 years of experience in hardware systems
- Practical knowledge of CAD tools (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Understanding of Bill of Materials, parts specifications
- Organized and self-directed; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
- Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
- Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
- Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%
