About the Team

We are a growing team that emphasizes on moving fast and delivering impactful products through technical excellence. Our tech stack includes a highly scalable and available architecture, processing more than 10K API requests per second, to big data processing and data analytics with 1.5B events per day, as well as a web platform to make our data available to customers and provide them insights that will help their business thrive. The team is focused on building out the next generation of eCommerce products for affiliate marketing and content monetization to serve publishers on the Web. We use cutting-edge technologies and algorithms including advanced implementations of Cassandra, Kafka, Spark and Natural Language Processing (NLP), among many others.

About the Job

Our Commerce team works on our core suite of products and scales our infrastructure to meet increasing demands of new traffic. We are re-imagining how our stack is architected to ensure we are utilizing best in class architecture that allows our apps to be highly responsive and available, fault tolerant, easily observable with simple deployment processes. We have an opportunity to create applications that are a joy to work with, and you would be at the center of this transformation. You will bring experience with SRE and DevOps transformation, implementation, and sustaining activities.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Building and maintaining the Commerce team’s infrastructures in the cloud.
  • Participate in planning and execution for full stack provisioning automation (i.e. CI/CD, SCM, infrastructure configuration as code, and monitoring).
  • Apply appropriate estimating techniques to determine the level of effort required for the technical implementation of solutions.
  • Engineer and implement automation and tools to speed incident resolution, reduce production issues, and manage production change with minimal business disruption.
  • Support and maintain infrastructure tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Artifactory, Vault, Datadog, Grafana, and Github.
  • Research, consult, and support the team on best practice use for container management and tools.
  • Develop software, integration, and tools needed to achieve reliability goals and automation to reduce toil.
  • Partner and lead engineering efforts in resolving operational issues, design and implement solutions, tools, and practices that help us improve operational efficiency and scale.
  • Create and update required documentation, runbooks, and instructions.
  • Provide technical and architectural/vision alignment guidance to and mentor team members.
  • Troubleshoot systemic issues and lead improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with our Application Cloud Enablement team to implement common solutions and help drive processes across the Organization

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to lead problem definition, solution designs, and define implementation work plans.
  • Professional working experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Automation engineering role.
  • Understanding of DevOps and Reliability Engineering practices.
  • Experience with running/managing systems and services on a cloud platform (AWS).
  • Experience with container and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, Fargate).
  • Experience with automation configuration tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Vault, etc.).
  • Experience deploying cloud services, monitoring, alerting, and handling critical issues.
  • Familiarity and experience with L2/L3 networking, DNS, and HAProxy.
  • Proficiency in BASH, Python, or other related script and development languages.
  • A creative yet analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to understand business domains and translate to reliability services.
  • Comfortable in a command line environment.
  • Technical curiosity and a desire for continuous learning.
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building and maintaining cloud network topologies and system availability.
  • Experience with Agile/JIRA.
  • Experience with Cloud based security protocols.

Compensation and Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate compensation range for this role in Boulder, Colorado is $135,000 to $145,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills and certifications.
