Research target applications and analyze relevant competitive materials for new photopolymer development projects. Research and identify applicable testing standards. Responsible for developing new materials within project schedules and with minimum supervision. Review journal articles and past research to identify technical approaches to achieve product specifications. Execute different technical paths; design experiments and iterate formulations in a chemical
laboratory environment. Source new raw materials as needed. Develop print settings on 3D printers to meet all accuracy and property specifications. Write project documents and keep records of development progress and experimental results. Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional team members from software, hardware, and product teams. 10% travel required for trade show and production support. 5 % telecommuting allowed from the area of intended employment.
Requirement PhD or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Macromolecular Science, or related field of study. Must have research or work experience in the following types of polymer development: resins, coatings, adhesives, elastomers, films, foams, rubbers, composites, thermoplastics, and thermosets; and three years of experience in analytical and characterization techniques for polymeric materials.
Experience can be gained concurrently or as part of education curriculum, co-op, or internship.
Multiple positions available.
Offered Wage: $121,597/year.
