Electronics Manufacturing Supervisor

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and hands-on Electronics Manufacturing Manager to oversee daily operations in our electronics assembly area, with a strong emphasis on Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with experience operating and troubleshooting SMT pick-and-place machines and the ability to manage personnel, maintain quality standards, and meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily production activities related to PCBA, including SMT, through-hole, and final assembly operations.

  • Lead and coordinate a team of machine operators, assemblers, and technicians, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality.

  • Schedule and assign work orders, monitor output, and ensure on-time delivery of products.

  • Operate, program, and troubleshoot SMT pick-and-place machines (e.g., Yamaha, Juki, Fuji, Mycronic, or similar).

  • Ensure proper setup and changeover of SMT lines for varying product builds.

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

  • Monitor production metrics and generate daily/weekly reports on yield, throughput, downtime, and rework.

  • Conduct regular inspections to verify adherence to IPC-A-610 standards, customer requirements, and internal quality policies.

  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and 5S principles.

  • Train and mentor team members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices.

  • Maintain and enforce ESD protocols and equipment calibration schedules.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • 8 plus years of experience in a managerial role within electronics manufacturing or PCBA production.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SMT pick-and-place machines and related equipment (solder paste printers, reflow ovens, AOI/AXI).

  • Knowledge of PCB fabrication, rework, and repair techniques.

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, and ESD standards.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and BOMs.

  • Proficiency in using MS Office and manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
