What We Do

The Mapbox Accelerated Recruiting Squad (MARS) is a specialized recruiting team within the larger Mapbox Talent Organization. We utilize a centralized hiring model for high volume engineering roles across multiple business teams. MARS’ mission is to deliver strong talent in an expedited way, enabling business teams across Mapbox to deliver for their customers efficiently at scale. Mapbox is in hyper-growth and we need a motivated Senior Technical Sourcer to help drive our ambitious growth plans. The role will not only drive the recruiting process of sourcing across multiple functions, but also the long term strategy for the Mapbox organization.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Technical Sourcer on the MARS team, you will:

• Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to become a subject matter expert in the technical requirements for our technical positions, with an emphasis on software engineers, and develop a deep understanding of how the positions impact the organization.

• Build strategic plans for sourcing candidates with diverse backgrounds for each of your roles. This includes leveraging market data and multiple sourcing channels such as Google, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and Stack Overflow to identify high caliber candidates and maintain a healthy pipeline for priority roles.

• Build a network of candidates by engaging passive talent through proactive market research and in-depth assessment of candidates, demonstrating ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences.

• Be an active member of intake meetings with hiring managers and recruiters.

• Help initiate creative and scalable changes to our existing sourcing strategy.

• Be the face of Mapbox to our amazing candidates. Maintain professional and courteous communication with candidates to foster long-term relationships and build equity in our employer brand across our European markets.

• 5+ years of technical sourcing experience for engineering roles.

• Team player who actively contributes to the team's success through knowledge-sharing, support, and engaging in team activities.

• Experience working on a globally distributed recruiting team.

• Proven track record of recruiting in European markets, understanding regional hiring trends, and legal requirements.

• Strong sourcing skills, engaging and attracting passive candidates, building diverse pipelines, and creating innovative sourcing strategies.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and hiring managers.

• A love for Data. You enjoy making sense of the trends and using the insights to better your process to make it more efficient.

• Ability to thrive autonomously in an ambiguous and dynamic environment, embrace new ideas and problem solve.

• Excellent hiring manager (HM) management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate, influence, and provide consultative support throughout the recruitment process.
