What You'll Do

• Oversee the company's financial and strategic planning by evaluating its performance and potential risks.

• Perform duties in all aspects with a broad understanding of finance, tax, and corporate strategy.

• Communicate with the stakeholders in Japan and US teams

• Lead the efforts of all finance and accounting teams required to implement the company's growth strategy.

• Perform regular financial analysis, including company-wide KPI integrations.

• Develop budgets that meet the requirements of company departments.

• Delegate appropriate work to third-party contractors.

• Ensure the organization complies with accounting standards both for JGAAP and US GAAP.

• Manage and oversee the company's treasury operations.

• Manage and oversee the organization's tax affairs and liaise with the external tax firm for specialist advice.

• Supervise all audit and internal control processes.

• Prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance to the executive team.

• Recognize the company’s spending and revenue patterns and recommend solutions to any problem.

• Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company.

• Drive process improvement projects to streamline and automate workflows, including system integrations with the global financial software.

• Support the global Finance & Accounting team with other projects as needed.

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

• 4-6 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.

• Experience working at a technology startup and/or US-headquartered company is a plus

• Solid grasp of multiple accounting standards, such as US GAAP and J-GAAP

• Experience preparing the month-end financial close package

• Experience with Netsuite, FloQast, Stripe, and Salesforce is a plus

• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company

• Highly analytical with strong, complex problem-solving skills

• Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Have a keen sense of curiosity to learn and ask questions

• Practical oral and written communication skills

• B.A./ B.S. degree

• English language skills mandatory
