ON A TYPICAL DAY YOU’LL

• Read, interpret, and execute work orders and other job documentation
• Ensure Pilot vehicle is stocked with all required tools and materials for your work orders
• Dispatch to a variety of work locations (primarily office buildings in the NYC area)
• Provide exceptional customer service to both customers and building staff
• Create and navigate pathways into customer offices from telecom closets and shaftways, often requiring drilling through drywall and masonry
• Run and secure pre-terminated fiber-optic cable between Pilot distribution panels and customer office spaces
• Assist with the installation of innerduct and EMT conduit
• Install fiber-optic modems (ONTs) and wireless routers in customer office spaces
• Troubleshoot fiber-optic internet outages caused by damaged fiber-optic cables and/or malfunctioning equipment and make repairs as required
• Complete progress reports and job documentation forms as required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiar operating common hand and power tools
• Passion for customer support
• Ability to work from 7am-3pm, Monday-Friday, with the flexibility to work outside of regular hours from time-to-time, based on business needs
• Ability to begin and end workday at Pilot’s facilities in Greenpoint, Brooklyn
• Comfortable working in confined spaces (basements, electrical closets, shaft-ways, etc.) and on ladders
• Willing to work in all weather conditions
• Capability of lifting up to 75 pounds
• Valid, clean drivers license (MVR check required)
• Valid OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification required

PILOT’S PAY & PERKS

• Base annual salary of $45,760 - $52,000 ($22 - $25 per hour)
