StackHawk helps software developers find and fix security vulnerabilities before they deploy code to production. Every modern software development organization has shifted from quarterly releases to daily or hourly releases, incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). In the modern world of FinTech, HealthTech, cloud analytics and AI platforms, customers are entrusting their most critical data to software providers. Periodic manual security testing by an external team is simply too risky. Because of this, modern software development organizations are extending CI/CD to encompass Continuous Application and API Security Testing. This way, security can “shift left,” meaning vulnerabilities can be detected while the developer is actively working on the code.
StackHawk leads the market in developer first API security testing. Application and API security is an exciting market, where more than 43% of global decision makers are looking to implement dynamic application security testing during software development, which represents a massive opportunity for StackHawk. StackHawk is building out a team of leaders and team members that will capitalize on market pull, and enable growth-phase scale of the business.
StackHawk is on a mission to empower AppSec and development teams to proactively discover and fix vulnerabilities in APIs and applications before code reaches production. Reporting to the VP of Product & Design, you'll be instrumental in bringing our product vision to life through shipped features that immediately impact our customers.
This isn't your typical PM role where you're stuck managing existing roadmaps or shipping incremental updates. You'll have a significant impact across our product—from delivering key feature improvements and customer-requested capabilities to driving execution on ambitious new initiatives, including AI-powered security solutions that represent the future of application security testing.
You'll lead customer discovery, validate product direction, and work cross-functionally to ship solutions that matter. You'll leverage AI tools to drive innovation within your PM function while helping build and deliver AI-first security capabilities for our customers. You'll have direct influence on our product strategy and customer success—from conducting discovery calls with enterprise prospects to partnering with engineering to deliver features that solve real problems.
This role includes regular collaboration at our downtown Denver headquarters (our Product Development team meets in person on Wednesdays), travel to customer locations for onsite discovery sessions, and attending industry conferences to connect with AppSec professionals, showcase our platform, and engage with the broader security community.
If you're energized by high-impact product development, love talking to customers, and want to drive meaningful change at a growing company—especially in the intersection of AI and security—this role is for you.

What You’ll Own

  • Drive Customer-Centric Product Development – Lead customer discovery activities, conduct user research, and translate insights into features that ship fast. You'll be the voice of the customer internally, ensuring every product decision is grounded in real user needs.
  • Validate and Execute Product Vision – Take strategic direction from leadership and validate solutions through customer feedback, market research, and rapid experimentation. Ship features that create immediate value for our AppSec and developer customers.
  • Champion Cross-Functional Execution – Work directly with Design and Engineering to prioritize ruthlessly and ship quickly. You know how to maximize the effectiveness of technical teams while maintaining high quality and user experience.
  • Launch and Measure Impact – Partner with Go-to-Market teams to bring new capabilities to market. Define the right metrics, measure what matters, and iterate based on data—not just opinions.
  • Explore AI Opportunities – Identify and validate how AI can enhance our security testing platform, enabling our customers to be more effective. You'll help us stay ahead of the curve in applying AI to AppSec challenges.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven 0-to-1 Experience – You've built and shipped products from scratch in B2B SaaS environments. You know what it takes to transform a customer problem into a shipped solution.
  • Customer Development Expertise – You're skilled at customer discovery, genuinely curious about user behavior, and obsessed with understanding the "why" behind customer needs. You know how to ask the right questions, balance structured research with speed of learning, and turn customer insights into successful product features.
  • AppSec Knowledge – You have experience with or deep interest in application security, vulnerability management, or DevSecOps. You understand the challenges security and development teams face when trying to build secure applications.
  • Strong Execution – You know how to prioritize effectively, work cross-functionally to remove blockers, and have experience partnering with GTM teams to ship features that create immediate customer value.
  • Experimentation Mindset – You're not afraid to test ideas, make mistakes, and learn quickly. You understand that in a fast-moving market, speed of learning beats perfection.
  • Adaptable and Growth-Minded – You thrive in evolving environments and aren't locked into rigid processes. You're open to new ideas and approaches as the business grows.
  • AI Curiosity – You're passionate about AI's potential and actively explore how to utilize AI to be more effective personally and how to integrate AI capabilities into current and new product features.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with developer tooling or technical products
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps, CI/CD, or security workflows
  • Previous experience at early-stage startups (Seed/Series A/B)
  • Background working with technical buyers and security teams
