Techstars Tokyo Accelerator started in 2024 and is a sector-agnostic accelerator program supporting globally ambitious founders across emerging technologies. The program is powered by Mitsui Fudosan and JETRO Startup, and works in close collaboration with the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Based in Tokyo, Techstars Tokyo combines local ecosystem strength with Techstars’ global mentor and investor network to help startups scale successfully. The startups are selected from over 120 countries and regions with an acceptance rate of below 1%.

Role Overview

We are looking for an Operations Associate to support the day-to-day execution of the Techstars Tokyo Accelerator program.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Tokyo. You will work closely with the Program Manager and the broader Techstars team to ensure smooth program operations, excellent participant experience, and strong coordination across founders, mentors, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day program operations, including schedules, calendars, documentation, and logistics
  
  
• Coordinate events, workshops, mentor meetings, and demo-related activities (both in-person and virtual)
  
  
• Serve as a point of contact for founders, mentors, partners, and stakeholders
  
  
• Support and continuously improve internal processes, systems, and workflows
  
  
• Track and analyze program metrics and operational data to support reporting and decision-making
  
  
• Ensure a high-quality experience for all participants throughout the accelerator lifecycle
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in operations, program coordination, project management, or a similar role
  
  
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset
  
  
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
  
  
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  
  
• Native speaker of either Japanese or English and conversational in the other. Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese (spoken and written) is highly desirable
  
  
• Currently lives in the Tokyo area .

Nice to Have

• Experience working with startups, accelerators, venture capital, or innovation programs
  
  
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Notion, Airtable, Slack, Salesforce, or other CRM systems
  
  
• Interest in the global startup ecosystem and emerging technologies
  
  

Compensation

• Up to ¥400,000/month, depending on skills and experiene
