About the Job
As a Software Developer with a focus on security, you will be a key player in Vendasta’s mission to deliver secure and scalable software solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will apply your expertise in secure coding practices, system architecture, and risk mitigation to protect our products and users. Beyond building secure systems, you will also provide mentorship, technical guidance, and leadership to ensure the broader development team adheres to the highest security standards.

Your Impact
As a Security Software Developer, you’ll collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps professionals to:
Design and implement secure software solutions that meet business goals and protect user data.
Conduct risk assessments and identify vulnerabilities in system architecture, code, and workflows.
Lead the integration of secure coding practices and tooling into the development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain authentication, authorization, and encryption systems.
Proactively address technical challenges, minimizing security-related technical debt.
Conduct regular security reviews, including threat modeling and code audits, and provide actionable recommendations.
Mentor team members on secure coding principles, fostering a security-first mindset across the organization.
Stay ahead of emerging security trends and regulations, incorporating them into Vendasta’s systems and processes.

What You Bring to the Table
You are a passionate, detail-oriented developer with a proven track record of creating secure systems. Your qualifications include:

Must-Have Skills:

• 3 - 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong portfolio of security-focused projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, Python, Java, or JavaScript (or similar).
• Expertise in secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and threat modeling.
• Experience with authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
• Strong knowledge of encryption standards and best practices for securing APIs and data.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles, especially in environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps tools for CI/CD pipelines and automated security testing.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of mentoring or leading technical initiatives.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or AWS Certified Security Specialist.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2, GDPR, or CCPA.
• Contributions to open-source security projects or community engagement in the security domain.
