About the Job:
As a Team Lead, Website Services, your mission is to lead and support a team of website professionals responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing AI-enhanced websites for Vendasta Partners. You will ensure that high-quality websites are delivered on time and aligned with service standards, while coaching team members, improving workflows, and embedding AI into day-to-day delivery.
You’ll act as the operational owner of your team’s output—handling prioritization, mentorship, and delivery quality—and will play a key role in continuous improvement, performance management, and cross-team collaboration. As a first-level people manager, you will foster a growth mindset, advocate for ethical AI use, and ensure your team is supported in both technical execution and career development.
Note:
This role requires working in CST shift hours, from 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM IST, at our Chennai office (Work from Office).
Your Impact:
As a Team Lead, you'll
- Manage a team of AI Website Associates, Specialists, and Senior Specialists by setting clear expectations and tracking progress against KPIs
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations using Vendasta’s Lattice growth track
- Provide real-time feedback, coaching, and mentorship on ticket resolution, site quality, AI usage, and time management
- Monitor daily throughput, prioritize tasks, and ensure optimal workload distribution across the team
- Own the operational delivery of all website tickets, ensuring high-quality execution, fast turnaround, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
- Review complex or escalated builds and offer technical support to unblock contributors
- Collaborate with team members to improve and evolve delivery SOPs, QA checklists, and build templates
- Ensure consistent use of internal tools (e.g., Zendesk, WordPress, GA4, Website Pro) and delivery standards
- Oversee daily operations and resource allocation to meet demand and maintain SLAs.
- Introduce and iterate on scalable workflows, ensuring efficient handoffs, reduced rework, and streamlined delivery.
- Manage and interpret performance metrics to drive insight-based decision-making.
- Champion adoption of AI tools and workflows across the team—ensuring each team member is trained, equipped, and engaged in AI-enabled practices
- Track usage of shared prompts, automation tools, QA bots, and AI-enhanced dashboards
- Partner with peers and Senior Managers to identify process automation opportunities and contribute to workflow improvements
- Ensure responsible and ethical AI use in accordance with Vendasta’s brand, partner standards, and governance frameworks
What You Bring to the Table:
- 5+ years of experience in website development, content operations, or web support, with at least 1–2 years in a mentorship or leadership capacity
- Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
- Advanced proficiency in WordPress, WooCommerce, or CMS platforms; strong knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Strong knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, GA4, and web performance optimization
- Experience managing ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk), assigning tasks, and tracking team performance
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and balance short-term execution with long-term improvements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coaching, stakeholder engagement, and documentation
- Familiarity with AI tools for content generation, formatting, QA, metadata, and prompt-based workflows
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and team development within a fast-paced, AI-integrated environment
