WHOOP is on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. Our wearable technology helps members understand their bodies and optimize recovery, training, and health. Every WHOOP product must deliver truth in measurement and trust in performance — and that’s where you come in.

To achieve this, WHOOP is building a closed-loop Product Integrity system — one that ensures every issue, from supplier variation to field performance, is rapidly detected, deeply understood, and permanently eliminated at the source.

We are seeking a Director of Product Integrity Engineering to lead this system end-to-end. This leader is accountable for the continuous feedback loop across supplier, NPI, manufacturing, and field performance, ensuring that no failure remains isolated and that all learnings are driven back into design, process, and supplier capability. This role defines whether WHOOP products succeed or fail in the real world not just in validation, but across their full lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and operate a closed-loop Product Integrity system that connects field performance, manufacturing quality, supplier inputs, and design decisions into a unified continuous improvement engine
  • Lead failure detection and root cause processes, including Early Field Failure Analysis and Failure Analysis, ensuring rapid diagnosis and systemic elimination of issues
  • Drive global manufacturing quality performance, including yield, outgoing quality, and escape prevention, ensuring robust process control and defect containment
  • Translate downstream insights into upstream prevention by embedding reliability learnings into design requirements, validation strategies, and supplier quality systems
  • Establish and lead product integrity governance, including launch readiness decisions, quality health reviews, and cross-functional escalation frameworks
  • Build and scale a high-performing global organization across Reliability Engineering, Failure Analysis, Field Quality, and Manufacturing Quality, with clear KPIs and accountability

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 12+ years in hardware reliability, product quality, global manufacturing quality, or test engineering in high-volume consumer electronics or wearable/medical device
  • Deep experience in global manufacturing environments, including multi-site quality management, contract manufacturing, and supply chain quality systems
  • Expertise in Design-for-Reliability (DfR), manufacturing quality systems, and validation methodologies including HALT/HASS/ALT, PFMEA, SPC, DOE, and 8D
  • Proven track record of improving yield, reducing escapes, and scaling quality across multiple regions and manufacturing partners
  • Strong experience driving standardization and governance across global sites, including KPI alignment and escalation systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary, globally distributed teams and influence across engineering, operations, and data science
  • Experience integrating field telemetry and predictive reliability analytics into product and manufacturing improvements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering
  • A passion for the WHOOP mission and a drive to set new standards for health technology reliability
