At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.
As an Electrical Test Tech Lead in the WHOOP Hardware Electrical Engineering team, you will lead the development of lab-based test infrastructure and validation approaches for highly integrated human performance optimization products. You will work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Software teams to enable rapid iteration during advanced development, new product introduction (NPI), and continuous improvement.
You will manage a team and own how systems are measured, debugged, and validated in the lab, defining strategy and building flexible and reliable test setups that accelerate learning and de-risk designs. You will mentor engineers, establish best practices, and drive strong engineering rigor in test and validation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a small team of electrical test engineers and technicians, setting direction, priorities, and expectations for execution
Set the technical vision and roadmap for electrical test infrastructure, aligning team priorities with broader hardware and product goals
Own and architect system-level validation in partnership with systems engineering across development phases, ensuring comprehensive coverage and efficient execution
Define and enforce best practices for test architecture, automation, data quality, and documentation to scale team effectiveness
Architect and guide the development of Python-based test infrastructure, automation frameworks, and lab test systems
Guide development of scalable lab test systems and fixtures (including test PCBAs, breakouts, and instrumentation interfaces) to increase velocity across programs
Partner with cross-functional leaders to influence product architecture for testability, observability, and long-term robustness
Ensure lab infrastructure, tools, and processes scale to support multiple concurrent programs and increasing system complexity
Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally to support builds and partners
