We are recruiting for a Director of DevSecOps (DDSO).
LocationInfleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Louisville, Colorado office.
Position SummaryThe newly hired DevSecOps Director will plan, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide security strategy to assure integrity and productivity while managing risk. Additionally, the DDSO will architect information security and automation practices for applications, end-user devices and servers, both on-premises and in cloud environments. The director will also pursue compliance with US NIST 800-171, UK NCSC, and EU GDPR with respect to internal and public facing implementations using DBTAL and ITIL rubrics.The director will work directly with leadership and engineering staff of each business unit to develop and enhance security posture, communicate and establish a relevant threat model, automate compliance, and assist with overall technology planning, providing a perspective grounded in software security and operations excellence.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned.
- Lead company efforts to establish a security operations team, from planning, recruiting and hiring to training, mentoring and evaluating
- Research threats and develop company-wide threat models, alongside appropriate responsive procedures and policies, to maintain a flexible and defensible evidence-based security posture
- Communicate to engineering executive leadership about threats, mitigations, and trade-offs
- Cooperate with DevOps and Information Technology leadership to connect practices, tooling, and operations as appropriate
- Mentor and educate technical staff across business lines to foster a collaborative, supportive security and operations knowledge sharing culture
- Act as a subject matter expert, trusted advisor, and cheerleader for security at every level of the organization
- Supervise internal incident response efforts and share post-mortem responsibility with system reliability engineering staff
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- A minimum 10 years combined prior experience in software development, security, and operations, with significant experience in each domain is required
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position is required
- Proven expertise in the fields of in engineering, physics or similar technical track
- Knowledge of common compliance and risk management frameworks including NIST
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
