This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Oxford, England office.Our team is looking for a full-time IT Service Desk Technician to join our fast-growing team located in central Oxford.Qualified candidates must be flexible, enjoy working in a team, and be highly organised - this is a great opportunity for an individual to gain new skills and grow their career as the company grows. ColdQuanta UK is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ColdQuanta, Inc. headquartered in Boulder/Louisville, Colorado. ColdQuanta leads the market in commercialising quantum atomics, the next wave of the information age. Our Quantum Core™ technology uses ultra-cold atoms cooled to a temperature of nearly absolute zero using lasers to manipulate and control the atoms with extreme precision. From Quantum Core technology we manufacture components, instruments, and turnkey systems that address a broad spectrum of applications ranging from timekeeping and navigation to quantum computing, and from radiofrequency (RF) receivers to quantum communications systems.Qualified candidates must have permission to work in the UK and be able to travel to the US and throughout Europe as needed. Primary Responsibilities
  • Work on incoming support desk tickets
  • Onboard/Offboard employees
  • Setup new computers, migrate data, and programs, and full workstation setup
  • Spec and purchase equipment
  • Solve hardware and software problems
  • Support software and line of business applications
  • Assist with planned projects
  • Work collaboratively and effectively as part of our growing five-person international team
  • Seek out improvements in the IT environment
  • Document network information (we document everything, so if you like good documentation and pride yourself in creating great documentation you will be a good fit)
  • Accurately record details of work performed as it is completed
  • Report updates to the team lead, and ask for help or guidance when needed
  • Continually absorb and learn new technical skills
Requirements
  • 1-2+ years experience in Desktop Support
  • Information Technology and Help Desk experience
  • Patience as it relates to performing support services in person
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to explain technical concepts to varying levels of end-users
  • Excellent communication skills while using remote tools, screen share, chat, in-person,
  • Friendly, kind, and seeks to please
  • Customer service driven
  • Loves to learn and find areas where they can bring improvements to the organization
  • Motivated by the feeling of satisfaction after a job well done
  • Ability to talk technically with varying degrees of technical/nontechnical contacts
  • Strong listening skills
  • Must work well in a team environment, ready to share your experience; collectively and cooperatively deliver high-quality services to our users.
  • Self-motivated, go-getter attitude, excellent work ethic
  • You are expected to have reliable transportation & ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Ability to work in the office in an in-house position
Technical Skills:
  • Desktop Hardware & Software mastery
  • Windows 10 setup (must have), troubleshooting, maintenance & upgrading
  • Mac OS setup (preferred), troubleshooting, maintenance & upgrading
  • Linux OS setup (preferred)
  • OS Upgrading
  • Deployment of hardware and full computer setup to end-user
  • Software installations, customizations, data migration, setups & backups
  • Active Directory
  • Cloud Experience
  • Office 365 (user setup, edits, management)
  • OneDrive/SharePoint
  • Documentation and planning
