We are recruiting for a Mixed Signal Electronics Engineer. LOCATIONInfleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Oxford, United Kingdom office. Job Summary Infleqtion UK is looking for a mixed signal electronics engineer with a passion for working with a multi-disciplinary team to bring state-of-the art quantum technologies outside the laboratory and into the real-world. You will use your skills to contribute to the design, verification, and implementation of electronic systems and subsystems for Infleqtion’s quantum products. You will have strong skills and relevant experience working with digital, mixed-signal, and analogue electronics, ranging from DC to RF frequencies. Job ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.  
  • Translating product requirements into end-to-end signal chain architecture
  • Execution of modelling, simulation, and analytical calculations to design systems required to meet product performance
  • Digital and mixed signal circuit design and signal processing using components such as DAC/ADC, FPGA's.
  • PCB design and layout for integration into larger mechanical, optical, and other subsystems
  • Shielding, cabling, and routing design for RF isolation
  • Generation of files suitable for PCB manufacture
  • Design and execution of test plans
  • Development of BOMs, supplier qualification, and materials sourcing
  • Product development using the Infleqtion Product Lifecycle
  • Identifying and engaging key suppliers
  • Supporting development of risk management plans and risk resolution, and supporting reliability analysis and continuous improvement
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or substantive experience, with a focus in electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, electro-optical engineering, RF engineering, or embedded systems engineering
  • An excellent understanding of electronics engineering principles, theory and design techniques
  • Precision analogue and digital circuit design
  • Several years of relevant and progressive experience in a similar role
  • Experience with testing, verification, and validation of products and subsystems
  • Experience using test and measurement equipment (network analyser, spectrum analyser etc)
  • Experience with hardware product development, new product introduction, and Product Life Cycle processes, preferably with mid to high volume commercial products
  • Experience with PCB design software (e.g Altium)
  • Experience with modelling and simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, HFSS)
  • Relevant experience of version control (e.g. Git)
Desirable Skills And Knowledge
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP)
  • High-speed photodetection systems
  • Low phase-noise oscillators and frequency conversion
  • Design for long term stability in varying environmental conditions
  • Experience with product development, new product introduction, and product life cycle processes, preferably with mid to high volume commercial products
  • Entrepreneurial drive, intellectual agility and personal eagerness to develop with the needs of the business
  • Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organisation; professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Resourceful problem-solver who collaboratively identifies effective paths forward with demonstrated expertise in executing productization efforts
