We are recruiting for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to join our expanding team! LOCATION Infleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder, CO; Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; and London, UK. This position is a full-time, located in our Louisville, CO or Madison, WI office. Position SummaryThe newly hired engineering manager will be responsible for leading a team of technical lead managers across a diverse set of technical projects. A successful candidate will have significant experience with managing software projects that are tightly coupled to complex hardware projects in various stages of development. A successful candidate will also embrace the challenge of working in a fast-paced startup and appreciate the opportunity to have a significant impact on its development. The Infleqtion software engineering team is responsible for supporting early R&D projects, products in beta, as well as mature products. This is a leadership position, reporting directly to Infleqtion’s VP of Software Engineering. Job ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Lead Infleqtion’s software engineering team leads
  • Drive software engineering efforts to develop effective software project management processes for teams of software engineers that are embedded with diverse cross-functional teams
  • Work with production engineers to develop and refine a company-wide software development and product lifecycles
  • Regularly communicate both team and project status to company and engineering leadership
  • Effectively find the balance between process uniformity and customization that best supports the company’s technical teams and business objectives
  • Manage, mentor, educate, and develop software technical lead managers (TLM) to foster a collaborative, supportive, and knowledge sharing culture
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with cross-functional leads, such as systems engineers and project managers
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proven expertise in the fields of in engineering, physics, or similar
  • Minimum of 5+ years prior experience leading software team leads
  • Proven leadership experience and ability
  • Experience working in fast-paced startups
  • Experience effectively leading projects that combine both hardware and software
  • Experience working as a professional software engineer
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
  • Resourceful problem-solver who collaboratively identifies effective paths forward with demonstrated expertise in executing productization efforts
  • Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%
  • This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer

Please note that any offer for employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive software or technology controlled under these U.S. export control laws and regulations without sponsorship for an export license BenefitsThe targeted salary range for this role is $155,000 to $180,000 on an annualized basis plus eligibility to participate in our annual incentive plan.
