Location

This position is a full-time position and is based in our Austin, Texas or Louisville, CO office. In addition, we will consider candidates who are remote-based/near the I-95 corridor (and if the ideal candidate). Additionally, once integrated into the company and position, the newly hired employee may be able to work a hybrid schedule.

Position Summary

The Senior Director of Business Development will be responsible for the identification, shaping and capture of strategic government-funded research and development opportunities spanning fundamental quantum technology research through major multi-million-dollar programs of record. The business development director encompasses coordination across multiple functions at Infleqtion to win business that supports the broader company mission and strategy, inserting our technologies into government mission needs, objectives, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and lead the CQL business development team to scale Infleqtion into a global quantum product company
  • Maintain extensive and deep relationships with, and understanding of, major Defense Primes and government customers (DOD, DARPA, NASA etc.), positioning Infleqtion as a trusted partner for quantum technologies and programs
  • Develop a robust understanding of company strategy, technologies, products and research, and pursue major program opportunities that connect the company’s capabilities with program opportunities to accelerate long-term revenue growth
  • Collaborate with internal technical and execution partners to identify and promote opportunities, aligning business cases, resources, schedules and risk/benefit trade-offs through identification phase, proposals, and program kickoff
  • Collaboratively develop persuasive documents with technical colleagues and business leaders, including but not limited to, white papers, technical abstracts, and visual presentation aids, to accelerate emergent opportunities and plans
  • Identify and recommend subcontract and partnership opportunities that will form strong win strategies
  • Provide customers with an additional conduit of escalation to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction well beyond contract award
  • Engage with industry and government leaders to develop externally driven partnerships in key technology verticals
  • Work closely with the CQL program execution teams to ensure alignment of Infleqtion and customer goals

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in business development and sales, with a focus on government-funded projects and acquisitions
  • Deep understanding of, and experience with, quantum technologies, markets and government programs
  • Bachelors or Masters in physics, electrical engineering, and/or systems engineering desired
  • Proven track record in delivering against aggressive growth revenue targets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal/State business acquisition cycles and processes through hands-on experience
  • Security clearance highly preferred; ability to obtain a security clearance is required
  • Experience in messaging and bridging customer interests to proposals and white papers through continued customer engagement and relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to get “wins” and to meet assigned quotas and deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a large, technical, and diverse portfolio
  • Management and leadership experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively share information with senior technical and non-technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Contribute to, and maintain, positive relationships with strategic external relationship counterparts and outside counsel
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • Passion for solving hard problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
  • This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer

This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Benefits

The targeted salary range for this role is $150,000 to $225,000 plus commissions.
