LocationInfleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; Oxford, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Louisville, Colorado offices.
Position SummaryInfleqtion is seeking an exceptional and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to drive the process of productizing hardware systems, turning research prototypes into manufacturable and scalable products. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Engineering, the Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading systems engineering efforts on critical ongoing product development programs within the framework of established Infleqtion’s Product Life Cycle (PLC) processes and procedures. In this role, the selected candidate will work with all engineering directorates and with the product team as a key contributor on efforts tasked with bringing our technology to market.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead product development program systems engineering efforts, including:
- Development of system level requirements and flow-downs in accordance with product strategies and objectives
- Development and documentation of system architecture
- Creation of core systems engineering documentation including Product Requirement Documents, subsystem and lower-level requirements specifications, Interface Control Documents, HWCI/SWCI documents, etc.
- Definition and execution of modelling, simulation, and analytical efforts required to successfully enable product design and verification processes and long-term product lifecycle objectives
- Product configuration with support from Integrated Product Team leads
- Creation of the deliverables related to Systems Engineering in Infleqtion’s PLC
- Coordination and Execution of System and Subsystem level reviews for deliverables of the Systems Engineering tasks
- Lead key systems engineering support to critical test efforts, including:
- Development of product Assembly, Integration & Test processes and procedures and engineering support to AI&T activities
- Development of product Verification and Validation test processes and procedures and engineering support to V&V test activities
- Coordination of traceability from requirements to test processes across the product architecture
- Support the development and refinement of a set of best practices for Systems Engineering extensible across a wide range of current and future Infleqtion product development efforts
- Drive development and execution of risk management plans and provide engineering support for reliability analysis
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a focus in engineering, science, physics, or technology field preferred
- 8+ years of relevant and progressive experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment

- Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%
- Master’s degree in engineering, science, physics, or technology field
- Experience with productization and Product Life Cycle processes
- Demonstrated ability to sufficiently learn the technical details of complex hardware system development to be able to successfully drive processes and procedures for integration, testing, and qualification.
- Experience in advanced technologies and high technology products
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and experience with SysML and MBSE tools (e.g. Cameo)
