LocationThis position is a full-time position and is based in our Austin, TX office. Additionally, this is a hybrid role and once integrated into the company and position, the newly hired employee will be able to work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Position SummaryThe VP of Facility/IT Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily facility and IT operations of the company to ensure alignment with the organization's strategic objectives. This individual will collaborate closely with other executive team members to optimize operational efficiency, improve processes, and drive growth related to the company’s growing facility and IT needs. This is a hands-on leadership role where the ability to design and deploy operational programs will be critical to your success. Job ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
  • Strategic Planning and Development: Collaborate with the executive team to define and implement operational strategies in alignment with the company's goals and objectives
  • Strategic Deployment of Technology: Hands on leadership anywhere Information Systems are involved. From ERP and MES to CRM and software solutions, the VP of Facility/IT Operations will guide the deployment, integration, and maintenance of enterprise-wide business tools
  • Information Governance: Oversee and manage the organization's information framework, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, protection, compliance with regulations, and optimization throughout its lifecycle
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Lead and manage the company's GRC framework, ensuring robust corporate governance, proactive risk mitigation, and strict adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise daily operations of various departments to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency with strategic objectives
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee operational budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to ensure financial expectations are met
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion and implement processes, tools, and technologies that promote operational excellence and innovation
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree with a technical focus is preferred (may substitute additional years of direct experience for the education requirement on a 1:1 basis)
  • A minimum 10 years combined prior experience in Operations, IT, and Information Governance; Significant experience in each domain is required
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership position is required
  • VP- or Director-level experience managing a company's IT operations
  • Expert knowledge of common security frameworks including NIST 800-171, ITAR, EAR.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, and team-oriented environment
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
  • Proficient in MS Office; Significant experience working with various facilities, operations, and IT systems and software
  • Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 20%
  • This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer
