Vru Mechanic Job Description

Location: Carlsbad, Jal, NM and Surrounding Areas

Schedule: 5/2 Schedule (5 Days on; 2 Days Off)

Hours: 10 - 12 Hour Days

Pay: $30 - $40/hr

Hierarchy Breakdown:

Reports to: The Operations Superintendent/Foreman located in the New Mexico Field Office.

Works Directly: Self Directed

Top Focus of this Position:

  • This person should have some experience with Rebuild engines, VRU, and all accessories such as water pumps, cylinder heads, oil pumps, etc
  • Will supervise all facility electrical, grounding, end device, commissioning including loop checks on facilities containing VRU equipment, PLC’s, SWD pumps, and associated oil and saltwater tank batteries
  • Working with combustors, compressors, VRU, and pneumatic valves. Used blueprints to design battery and well locations
  • Travel to field locations to make repairs on-site
  • Maintain inventory on parts and supplies
  • Get bids on machine and vendor work
  • Responsible for testing engine emissions
  • Keep engines tuned up
  • Operator Oilfield compression and flooded screws

Requirements

VRU Mechanic will have the Knowledge and Ability to Perform the Following:

  • Record operational data, such as temperatures, pressures, ingredients used, processing times, or test results
  • Patrol work areas to detect leaks or equipment malfunctions or to monitor operating conditions
  • Draw samples of products at specified stages so that analysis can be performed
  • Monitor gauges, recording instruments, flowmeters, or products to ensure that specified conditions are maintained
  • Inspect equipment or units to detect leaks or malfunctions, shutting equipment down, if necessary
  • Estimate materials required for production and manufacturing of products. – note
  • Direct activities of workers assisting in control or verification of processes or in unloading of materials
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to maintain gas engines, GL and emissions, and failure analysis
  • Must be able to spend 50% of time out in the field
  • Must have strong computer skills i.e. Word, Excel
  • Must be able to climb, push/pull/lift 100 lbs. And carry objects weighing 70 lbs
  • Must be able to drive and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, crawl, and squat
  • Strong analysis/comprehension skills, judgement/decision making ability
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold situations
  • High exposure to noise, fumes/odors, and hazardous materials
  • Must be able to operate electrical drills, grinders, and computers
