Location

This FT position is located out of our Boulder, CO office, however, we may consider remote candidates.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President of Business Development – Quantum Information Platforms is a critical strategic role reporting to the President of Infleqtion’s Quantum Information Platforms business, with wide remit to develop our go-to-market strategy, build partnerships and revenue, and drive customer success. This includes quantum computation, the exciting nascent field of quantum signal processing, quantum sensors and future platforms to follow.

Infleqtion is building the world’s leading quantum company. Building partner, customer and revenue growth is fundamental to this goal – the Vice President of Business Development will be at the tip of the spear on this transformation.

The ideal candidate is currently heading business development or sales at a leading quantum hardware or software company and looking to apply their skills within an exciting broader platform.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Lead development of go-to-market strategy for Quantum Information Platforms, identifying industry vertical use cases, channel partner opportunities, key targeting parameters and prioritization criteria for each product
  • Source, negotiate and lead end customer accounts across Infleqtion’s Quantum Information Platform products and services to drive customer growth, bookings commitments, revenue scale and mutually rewarding collaborations
  • Develop strategic go-to-market channel relationships with key partners in the quantum ecosystem across the service stack (from quantum applications and software vendors, through control software and hardware providers), global consulting firms, system integrators and others
  • Develop pricing and economic models that enable ColdQuanta to compete and scale customer engagement and revenue across the portfolio
  • Partner with Infleqtion technical and product management leadership in identifying in-bound partnerships to fill key gaps in the technical stack & roadmap. Lead initiatives to establish mutually rewarding relationships that accelerate Inflection’s time-to-market, capabilities and intellectual property
  • Play an active leadership role in the development of partnerships to support Inflections’ global quantum center-of-excellence hub strategy
  • Build a world-class business development and account success team

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BS in technical field, MBA would be a plus
  • 10+ year proven track record in business development or sales leadership in deep-tech or other cutting-edge technical industry, preferably in the high-growth start-up world
  • Deep knowledge of the quantum computing industry, key players and market dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate and close substantial revenue relationships in fast-moving “pathfinder” markets
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Entrepreneurial drive, intellectual agility, and personal eagerness to develop with the needs of the business
  • Self-motivated, energetic individuals with strong problem-solving and technical skills who don’t wait to be told what to do but go out and do it
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • An open mind, willingness to learn, admit mistakes, change course when necessary, and tackle hard problems, sometimes under tight deadlines amid ambiguity
  • Strong EQ skills to engage with teammates and high levels of judgment and discretion to know what to brief, how to brief it, and when
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 30%
  • This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer
