Location

This position is a full-time, hybrid-based position which will be located in our Louisville, Colorado office.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Electrical Engineering, the newly hired associate engineer will contribute to development efforts on high-performance quantum control systems.

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all the following duties.   • Collaborate across engineering and scientific disciplines to deliver high-performance real time embedded systems
  • Subsystem integration into quantum systems, including verification, validation, and debugging
  • Deploy high test coverage and fully leverage our CI pipelines and hardware test beds to have confidence that your designs will work as expected
  • Develop programmable logic and low-level CPU interfaces to control integrated systems and peripherals including quantum sensors, magnetic field controllers, and lasers
  • Create test scripts to validate subsystems and components of integrated systems

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A minimum of a Bachelors in Embedded Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar field and at least two years of relevant experience OR a master's degree in a similar field
  • Experience working in a Linux environment (experience managing Makefiles a plus)
  • Python coding experience is required
  • Experience with, or exposure to, the following areas:
  • Embedded system development in Rust or relevant expertise with C/C++
  • FPGA development in any HDL, including working in Verilog/VHDL or bleeding-edge languages like SpinalHDL, nMigen, and MyHDL
  • Experience with common benchtop test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and power supplies
  • Familiarity with EDA software (Altium experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively share and communicate information with technical and non-technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization in English; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and adapt and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
  • Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize work activities and tasks
  • Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%
  • This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer

This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Benefits

The targeted salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000.
