This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Oxford, England office.

Job Summary

Infleqtion UK is looking for an experienced experimental physicist with a PhD in atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics and a passion for bringing quantum technologies outside the laboratory and into the real world. This role is responsible for leading technical teams to deliver and drive the development of field-deployable Rydberg atom radiofrequency sensors.

Primary Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To,

• Lead a technical portfolio of projects to advance field deployable quantum RF receivers.
• Identify and execute internal research and development efforts.
• Managing technical personnel who are assigned to your technical area.
• Road-mapping of technical capabilities into business and product objectives.
• Determine, with other Infleqtion strategic leaders, what technologies and prototypes are transitioned from R&D into the product development lifecycle.
• Represent the company and project’s interests to external stakeholders, setting examples for the company’s performance, and identifying opportunities for expanding the company’s influence.
• Assemble, brief, and deliver technical status, milestone reports, and design reviews to both internal and external stakeholders.
  
  

Requirements

• PhD in experimental atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics.
• Postdoctoral experience in AMO Physics.
• Experimental expertise with Rydberg atom physics.
• Experience with proposal, experimentation, design, development, and transition of technically complex solutions and/or products
• Experience working with laser systems; optical design, alignment, and control
• Proven track record of integrating complex hardware and software into systems
• Working knowledge of control systems and signal processing
• Proficiency in a programming language (e.g. Python)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and drive project team members and stakeholders
• Ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
