LOCATION

Infleqtion has offices in the USA, United Kingdom and Australia. This is a full-time position split between our Kidlington, Oxford office and the National Quantum Computing Centre, Harwell. Work from home permitted up to 2 days per week based on business needs and manager approval.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Technician will play a key role in supporting Infleqtion’s product and process development. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the design, build, and optimisation of prototype and production systems, helping to drive continuous improvement across projects and manufacturing processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned.

  • Build complex electro-mechanical-optical assemblies for prototypes and development products.
  • Install and integrate electrical and mechanical components, including PCBAs, wiring harnesses, optics, and fasteners.
  • Assemble and test prototype PCBs, providing feedback to design teams to improve performance and manufacturability.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in developing and optimising production processes, tools, jigs, and test procedures.
  • Prepare detailed production documentation, work instructions, and build/test reports.
  • Design and manufacture wiring harnesses and related sub-assemblies.
  • Assist in development trials and process reviews, recommending improvements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure product readiness and smooth transition to production.
  • Maintain accurate build records and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications and / or experience in any relevant Technical or Engineering discipline.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical assembly, soldering, and use of hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and PCB assembly drawings.
  • Analytical mindset with good data interpretation and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Problem-solving and process improvement capability.

Desirable:

  • Experience in both prototype and production environments.
  • Engineering background or relevant technical qualification.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and testing methodologies.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work will normally be performed in an office and laboratory environment. Able to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops, copiers, and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone, computer, or in-person). Will involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 10 kg.

TRAVEL

Up to 10% travel may be required.
